Man&Boy is one of the charities supported by a Love Kingston grant this year. So Tessa Kind, Love Kingston’s Community Fundraising Manager, needed no convincing to sign up with friends Mary and Stephanie for the Man&Boy London Landmark Challenge.

26 people of all ages climbed the equivalent heights of landmarks such as the London Eye, Nelson’s Column and the Shard at White Spider on Sunday 28 October. In total over £1,000 was raised for Man & Boy’s charity.

Tessa said ‘After my first nervous attempt I went on to complete 7 climbs and in the end our team reached the Gherkin! What I love about my job is connecting people and seeing opportunities develop. It’s all about building relationships, teaming up and helping each other. Some exciting new projects may be on the horizon as a result of today.’

Man and Boy recognises the importance of a supportive, encouraging male role model in making a positive difference to a boy's self esteem.  The project’s work aims to stengthen the bonds between young boys and their father or another male role model in the family.
