About The Vintage Banquet:

The Vintage Banquet provides community care and creative opportunities on a weekly basis especially for those who would be isolated, vulnerable or alone, mainly for the over 60’s.

What the Grant is for:

Towards sustaining and developing the weekly gatherings by organising visiting singing/choir groups, visits from local schools and young people from Kingston University, art sessions and developing help from the JOEL night shelter and other volunteers and developing the offer to taking guests out on visits – especially in the summer.

Clive Clarke, Vintage Banquet:

Our guests, all over sixty years old, come from many walks of life. With retirement from work, the loss of a partner or friends, with many distractions and pressures on the time of younger members of the family and with physical frailty, life can so easily become lonely and isolating.

With a generally ageing population the opportunity to meet up with friends, to share in life’s joys and pains and to reflect on the journey with optimism and faith is vital to our overall wellbeing. This is what we seek to do at The Vintage Banquet, to share together in a warm, engaging, joyful and friendly environment with food on the table. The Vintage Banquet will prosper by having further resources to help multiply its contribution amongst the elderly of our borough.
